Event to Celebrate Palestinian Culture

An evening of Palestinian culture is to be held at Broughton St Mary’s Church in Edinburgh next month.

Held on Land Day, March 30 ‘Land, Loss and Longing’ is organised by Hadeel, the charity which sells Palestinian fairtrade goods.

There will be live music from the band Mawtini and readings/ translations of Palestinian poetry from Christine de Luca, former Edinburgh Makar, and Ishaq Abu-Arafeh.

There will be home-made Palestinian finger food, an opportunity to learn about Land Day, a photography exhibition and stalls of books, crafts and food from Palestine.

The event starts at 7pm on March 30, and tickets at £15 (£12 concessions, £10 under 16s) are available from Eventbrite.
