Church Joins Worldwide Prayers for Peace in the Middle East

Thursday October 24 2013

The Church of Scotland is joining with Christians around the world to pray for peace in the Middle East.

Christians in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory have called for an ecumenical prayer vigil across the globe on the 24th of every month. The Church, along with the Scottish Episcopal Church and Christian Aid, is joining the movement in partnership with the worldwide ACT Alliance.

Tonight (Thursday October 24), a special prayer event is being held at Queen's Cross Parish Church in Aberdeen from 7-9pm. This will be an evening of stories from recent trips to the Holy Land, with prayers for peace.

Next month's vigil will be on November 24 in Glasgow.

ACT Alliance is a coalition of more than 130 churches and affiliated organisations working to improve the lives of poor and marginalised people worldwide.
