Moderator Welcomed to Fife Church

                                                                                                                                        Tuesday August 19, 2014

The Moderator of the General Assembly, the Rt Rev John Chalmers, was welcomed to Fife at a special service in Methil on Sunday.

Mr Chalmers, who preached the sermon during the service at Methil: Wellesley, presented the church with a commemorative dove crafted from glass salvaged from the rubble of past invasions of Bethlehem.

During the service he also launched an appeal for a new hall for the Church, on behalf of the minister, the Rev Gillian Paterson and the congregation.

Mr Chalmers and his wife Liz are pictured with the Rev Paterson and dignitaries including Mrs Margaret Dean, the Lord Lieutenant of Fife, Lindsay Roy MP, Mrs Myra Deas, Moderator of Kirkcaldy Presbytery and Jim Young and John O'Brien, local councillors for Methil.
