Christmas Tree Festval at Edinburgh Church

                                                                                                                                      Thursday October 23, 2014

AN Edinburgh church has launched plans for its fifth Edinburgh Christmas Tree Festival.

St Andrew's and St George's West brings together 40 Christmas trees in the church's sanctuary, with each telling a story during the Advent season. At least one is dedicated to children from local schools and nurseries.

The festival brings together business, charities, church and the local community.

The Christmas story is retold during the festival and local musicians and primary school choirs provide a free programme of music.

This year's Festival begins on Saturday December 6 and will run until Christmas Eve, with doors at the Church open from Monday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm with late opening on Thursday December 11 and 18 until 9pm.

In 2013 the Festival attracted more than 3000 visitors and more than £4000 in donations was raised for local charities including the Edinburgh Clothing Store and the Sunflower Garden, a CrossReach project.

Anyone interested in sponsoring a tree should contact Katie McNeill via the church office info@stagw.org.uk
