On Monday October 6 a service of Ordination was held in Dunnet Parish Church, Caithness, for Lyall Rennie, to appoint him as OLM, with the title of assistant minister for the linked charges of Canisbay, with Dunnet with Keiss with Olrig.

Mr Rennie, who is originally from Aberdeenshire, has been locum for the vacant northeast parishes of Caithness for over five years. He is pictured with his wife Isabel, daughter Izzy and son Duncan.

The beautiful scarf, a gift from the four congregations, was designed by Angela Lewis and crafted by Carmel Ross. It depicts the Island of Stroma, and an oil rig along with various Biblical themed references.

Sunday October 26 was a Sunday of great celebration for the recent union of Dysart: St Clair when eight members joined the Session. This was the first admission and ordination of Elders and there was a great celebration of joy and thanks to God. The recently appointed minister, the Rev Maudeen MacDougall, delivered a meaningful service reminding the new Elders, and long serving, of their calling and duty to the parish of Dysart: St Clair. The members were Flora Ferguson, Valerie Major, Helen McCaw, John McCaw, Megan Nawrot, Lyn Spears, Alan Spears and Margaret Grieve.
