TWR-UK to Launch on Freeview

Wednesday March 25

Nearly every household in the UK will be able to access Christian radio TWR-UK through their TV when it begins broadcasting on Freeview next month.

The broadcaster will launch on the free-to-air platform on April 1, on channel 733.

Russell Farnworth, CEO of TWR-UK, said: "This new platform, coupled with our existing platforms, will mean practically every household in the UK will be able to hear TWR's life changing broadcasts. TWR has never faltered in its commitment to exploring every possible way to communicate the Christian message and I'm very excited that we have this great opportunity to reach a wider audience."

TWR-UK is part of an international Christian media organisation which broadcasts in more than 230 languages and dialects to 160 countries. In the UK, it is also available on Sky 0138, Freesat 790 and online at twr.org.uk

US-based Trinity Broadcast Network also launched on Freeview earlier this year (channel 65) and Premier Christian Radio broadcasts on channel 725.

“Just done a retune on my Freeview HD box, no TWR UK! is it on the weaker channel 31 hd multiplex? I get my signal from Winter Hill transmitter near bolton, lancashire.”

“Problem is you need Freeview HD equipment and secondly you need to be receiving a main transmitter station;relays probably won't carry it and sub-relay transmitters serving small rural and urban areas are very unlikely to carry TWR-UK as well. You also need a good aerial set-up with good quality cabling etc in order to guarantee any reception of TWR-UK no old, no bent, corroded, or weather damaged aerials either, it is transmitted on channel 31 com7 mux using DVB-T2 format which goes out at slightly lower power than the rest of the Freeview multiplexes at 24kW which can be tricky to pick up, your aerial, it's cabling and the condition of it makes all the difference.”

“Looking forward to getting TWR on freeview. It will be great to get good sound Biblical teaching available to many more people. Wishing you God's richest blessing. ”
