Christian Aid Sale Opens for Donations

Tuesday April 21

St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church in Edinburgh will be accepting donations for its annual Christian Aid sale from next week.

The sale has been running for over 40 years, completely taking over the church during Christian Aid week. Beginning as a book sale, over the years antiques and collectables, records, toys, stamps and postcards have been added.

It is the largest such event in Scotland for Christian Aid, raising over £1 million in the last decade alone.

Donations will be accepted at the George Street church from this Monday, April 27 to Wednesday May 6 from 9am-9pm (except the Sunday, and closing at 5pm on the Saturday). This year’s Patron is Lord Smith of Kelvin, former Governor of the BBC.

The sale itself takes place from Saturday May 9 – Friday May 15.

For more information call the church office on 0131 225 3847.
