Minister Walks in Footsteps of Jesus

Thursday February 16 2017

An Edinburgh minister and his wife are to take part in a five-day charity trek from Nazareth in April.

Colin and Ruth Sinclair will be joining volunteers from around the world to take part in the Walk the Jesus Trail from April 2-8, following in the footsteps of Jesus, to raise funds for The Nazareth Trust, which operates The Nazareth Hospital EMMS.

The walk will cover biblical sites including the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional site of the feeding of the 5,000, and Cana before finishing in Capernaum.

Colin, minister of Palmerston Place Church and current Moderator of Edinburgh Presbytery, said: “I decided to take part in the walk because Ruth undertook this challenge in 2015 and wanted me to share what it meant to her. I met some of the team when they were in Edinburgh last November to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of EMMS (Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society) and was persuaded to join them.

“I’m really looking forward to the experience, which I think will be quite unique and am very thankful to everyone who has kindly agreed to sponsor me. It is hoped that the Walk will raise £25,000 in total so every penny is so gratefully appreciated”.
