Moray Presbytery held a service of Praise, Prayer and Reflection on Sunday, March 5, in St Giles Church, Elgin, as part of a special call to prayer over Lent.

The presbytery is asking churches to be open for prayer one day a week throughout Lent, and for its people to pray for the world, nation, the local area and the church.

Writing in the Presbytery newsletter, Margaret King DCS, Presbytery Prayer co-ordinator, says: “We want to provide the sacred space where people can come apart, even for just a few minutes, to rest and reflect and bring their concerns specifically and intentionally to God.”

The Elgin service was led by (pictured left to right) the Rev Peter Robertson, the Rev Jenny Adams, the Rev Anne Attenburrow and Margaret King.

A Fife minister, his wife and two friends are tackling the 80 miles of the Fife Coastal Path this week to help buy equipment to save the lives of mothers and babies in Zambia.

Setting off from Kincardine on Sunday, the Rev Alec Shuttleworth, his wife Margaret and Francis and Mary Binnie will reach St Andrews tomorrow (Friday).

They are hoping that the money raised (which has already topped £1000) will buy a baby monitor for the Mbereshi Hospital in Zambia. They were alerted to the need for the monitor by Church of Scotland Mission Partner Ida Waddell.

Alec, minister of Tulliallan and Kincardine Church, posted this video from Kirkcaldy on Tuesday.
