'Mean Bean' Challenge for Tearfund

Thursday March 9 2017

The Christian charity Tearfund is challenging supporters to be sponsored to live on just rice, beans and oats for five days.

Participants in the Mean Bean Challenge, from March 27-31, will eat porridge for breakfast and plain rice and beans for the other two meals of the day.

As well as raising money for Tearfund, they will experience a little of what it’s like for millions of people around the world who eat the same simple food day after day.

Money raised will go towards Tearfund’s work with the poor and hungry around the world.
