New Scottish Hymns Band Tour for Tearfund

Monday April 3 2017

The Christian development charity Tearfund is teaming up with the New Scottish Hymns Band for a new series of concerts, to take place around Scotland this spring.

The Spring Sessions concerts will combine praise and worship with the opportunity to find out about Tearfund’s work.

New Scottish Hymns is a gospel-hearted music ministry, influenced by Scottish folk melodies and the best of traditional hymn-writing. Since 2012, they have been writing and performing new music for the Scottish church and have produced two popular albums. Their passion is for the church to have more songs that help people from different backgrounds and cultures unite under a common theme, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is the first time the band have partnered with Tearfund. However, Ellyn Oliver, one of the lead singers, was involved in last year’s Christmas tour. She visited Tearfund’s work in Malawi in 2016, and will be sharing her experiences as part of the concerts.

The Spring Sessions tour will visit churches in Arbroath, Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Banchory. For more information or to book, visit Eventbrite.
