Young people were to the fore as St Mary’s Church in Motherwell held a launch service for the Year of Young People (YOYP) on Sunday.
The call to worship was led by Adam Wilson, a member of the ‘Y Zone’ (high school ages), and the Year of Young People prayer was led by six of the church’s young people and the youth leader. Hymns were also chosen by the junior church.
Minister, the Rev Bryce Calder, then invited representatives from across the congregation and organisations to sign the YOYP charter. As the Junior Church headed to the halls they then completed a large display of handprints to go on our new YOYP notice board.
