Parish News Round-up

Thursday June 28 2018

Our regular round-up of news received from churches.

Please send items of parish news to magazine@lifeandwork.org or Life and Work, 121 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 4YN. Please check the quality of your pictures: images which are too small, blurry or too dark cannot be used. If there are children in any picture please confirm that their parents or guardians have given permission for publication.

Five teenage members of Woodside Parish Church, Aberdeen went on a PGL Adventure Camp in Perthshire together with two church elders, Su van der Plas and Isabell Auffermann and their minister, the Rev Markus Auffermann.

Teenagers and adults alike greatly enjoyed the fellowship and the activities: zip wire, trapeze, challenge course, archery, quad biking and fencing. They were looked after very well by their instructor Mike (kneeling on the picture in front of the church group). The church teenagers and adults were able to learn lots of new skills and even built stronger and more lasting relationships with each other.

The presbyteries of Edinburgh and eGoli in South Africa continued to explore the possibilities of a new twinning partnership when a group from eGoli visited Scotland earlier this month. The Rev Thembinkosi Nopopaza, the Rev Armando Sontange, Thandeka Buthelezi and Thandiwe Mazibuko are pictured at Holyrood Palace.

A delegation from Kwahu Presbytery in Ghana visited Hamilton Presbytery last week. George Awame Acheampong (Chairman of Presbytery) and his wife Theresa, along with Charles Oppong, a candidate in training for the Ministry, are pictured with some of their hosts at the Presbytery office.
