Young people were the focus at Dundee St Andrew's Church in June.
The month started with a Year of Young People (YOYP) family barbecue at Crombie Country Park, rounding off the Sunday School year and followed the next day with the annual prize giving in church.
However the highlight of the month was the YOYP Celebration Service on Sunday June 24. One of the youngest members of Sunday School carried the Bible to the pulpit, other young people led the call to worship, wrote and read the prayer and chose the hymns. They then invited the adults out for all age worship, with lots of laughter and interaction followed as they worked their way through the story of David and Goliath.
Senior Sunday School leaders Gayle Lennon and Sharon Miller said:
“We are very grateful to the Rev Caroline Taylor for supporting us in our celebration of our Young People, and to all who made the day possible.”
Over 380 years of service to the Church of Scotland was celebrated at Bellshill Central Parish Church, when long service certificates were presented to elders and young people’s workers.
