However, the BBC journalist will be swapping places and instead will be the subject of an interview at a unique Fringe event staged at an Edinburgh city centre Church.
Naughtie, one of the most recognisable voices in radio broadcasting, will be interviewed by British-American mezzo-soprano Andrea Baker about his five favourite pieces of music in the first part of The Power of Music tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon.
The event will be repeated with author Bernard MacLaverty in the hotseat on Thursday.
Both conversations will take place at St Andrew’s and St George’s West in George Street, Edinburgh, with Naughtie featuring between 2.30pm and 3.30pm tomorrow and MacLaverty on Thursday between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
The Rev Ian Gilmour, minister at St Andrew’s and St George’s West said:
“Andrea is a wonderful artist and mesmerising performer who has been hugely supportive in collaborating with us in music and story. We are so privileged that she has agreed to lead in our Spoken Word Fringe shows.”
