On February 3, St Andrew’s Church of Scotland in Gibraltar was once again delighted to welcome the Gibraltar Air Cadets for their annual Air Training Corps service.

As part of the service the Squadron Banner was marched ‘in’ and ‘out’ and the cadets repeated their Cadets Promise. The march ‘in’ requires some precise drill, which was perfectly executed by the cadets. There was a good turnout of serving military personnel and parents.

The Rev Ewen Maclean continues to be the Squadron Chaplain and is a member of the civilian committee.  During the summer of 2018, the Rev Ron Tuck, Wing Chaplain visited Gibraltar along with a UK squadron camp, during which he officially inducted Ewen into the Chaplaincy in an outdoor service with the Rock in the background.

On Sunday February 10, the Rev Kevin de Beer presented William (Bill) Cameron with a long service certificate in recognition of 30-plus years of service as an elder within the church of Scotland. Mr Cameron has served in the former Macdonald Memorial Church in Bellshill, Holytown Parish Church and now Bellshill Central Parish Church.

A service of Ordination and Admission of new elders took place at the Parish Church of St Cuthbert, Edinburgh. The new elders - Chris Mallon, Anne Robertson, Irene Gill and Graham MacLagan - are pictured with minister the Rev Peter Sutton, assistant minister the Rev Charles Robertson, and interim session clerk Margaret Pollock.
