Conference on Early Years Ministry

Tuesday June 4 2019

The Connections Project at Inverness St Columba's Church

A conference is to be held in Dunblane in September to help congregations explore work with families and children in their early years.

Statistics show more than half (52%) of the UK’s under-5s attend a church-based toddler group, giving the Church an opportunity to have a positive impact on them at a crucial time in their development.

The Roots and Wings conference, at Dunblane Cathedral on Saturday September 14, will be an opportunity for churches to consider how early years and family ministry can be a significant part of parish ministry. It is suitable both for churches already involved with such groups and those considering starting one.

The key speaker is Alan Sinclair, former Chief Executive of the Wise Group social enterprise and author of ‘Right from the Start: Investing in parents and babies’. There will also be workshops, run by CrossReach, Care for the Family and other specialists, and an opportunity to share ideas and experiences from across Scotland.

The conference, which costs £20, is jointly run by the Mission and Discipleship and Church and Society Councils of the Church of Scotland. Register at Eventbrite.
