Our regular round-up of news received from churches

There was a special guest on hand to present Sheila Cormack with her long service certificate in Dunnet Church on Sunday. Prince Charles, the Duke of Rothesay, attended the service and made the presentation.

Sheila has been an elder at the church for over 30 years and has also served the Presbytery of Caithness, including as its first female convener of the Home Mission Committee, and was Presbytery Moderator for 2017-18. She has also been a member of the church Guild for about 45 years and president several times, as well as being part of Caithness Presbyterial Council.

At a Sunday service at Forfar St Margaret's the minister, the Rev Maggie Hunt, replaced the sermon with an opportunity for the congregation to demonstrate faith in action. Some chose to litter-pick or weed around the church, others checked that all was ready for Ice-cream Sundae Sunday, while Marion Stewart prepared for the next school uniform pop-up shop at the church.
