'Make A Will' Urge Charities

                                                                                                                      Monday August 5 2019

A joint campaign to encourage Scots to make a will has been launched by Will Relief Scotland, to raise funds for four charities.

Will Relief Scotland, which takes place each September, is a partnership of four Christian charities – Blythswood Care, EMMS International, Mission Aviation Fellowship and Signpost International.

A spokesman for the campaign said: ‘Sixty-three percent of Scots have not made a Will, meaning they have no say on who their assets will be passed on to when they die, according to research by unbiaised.co.uk, the UK’s biggest slection of financial advisers, mortgage brokers, solicitors and accountants.

Will Relief Scotland, which takes place every September, encourages people to complete this important piece of paperwork - to tick it off the to-do list – and help charity.

Law firms pledge their time to write basic wills, inviting clients to donate to charity instead.’

Further information on participating solicitors is available at willreliefscotland.org or phone Mairi on 01349 830777 (Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm).
