Christian Aid Scotland’s 2020 Gatherings will examine how the charity responds to communities in crisis around the world, and explore the biblical background to its work with an overseas partner.
Four events are taking place around Scotland, starting from next week.
The key speaker will be Nick Guttman, head of Christian Aid’s humanitarian division. He has over 28 years of field and head office experience in emergency response, preparedness and disaster risk reduction.
Each gathering will also include a session of Just Scripture, Christian Aid’s international bible study tool, in which an overseas partner joins the group, live, to explore a passage of scripture. This method of studying scripture has been inspired by communities in South Africa, and aims to strengthen connections between communities of faith and explore how together they can challenge poverty and inequality across the world.
The four events are:
Wednesday February 19: Steeple Church Halls, Dundee
Thursday February 20: Cathedral Halls, Dunblane
Friday February 21: Wheatley House Academy, Glasgow
Saturday February 22: St George’s Church Halls, Dumfries
Each lasts from 10am-1pm and refreshments will be provided. You can let Christian Aid know you’re coming through the Facebook events page or by email to glasgow@christian-aid.org
