Day of Prayer for the Media Announced

Thursday March 5 2020

An organisation of Christians working in the UK media has designated Sunday November 1 as the Day of Prayer for the Media.

Christians in Media has issued an invitation to churches to set aside time that Sunday to pray for their local, regional and national media, and those in their communities who work in the industry.

The organisers state: “These activities will provide the perfect occasion to publicly affirm the vital role media plays in our civic society, to promote media as an honourable profession, and encourage Christians to consider it a calling. It is also an opportunity to support, encourage and inspire all those working in and with media in our churches who help to portray and interpret the Church’s role in our society. It will be a chance to highlight and pray for a media free of persecution, and for journalists around the world.”

A prayer resource for church and small group leaders is available from www.christiansinmedia.co.uk and will be updated throughout the year.

Christians in Media is a UK network and community that supports, encourages and inspires Christians who work in, and with the media - broadcast, print and online.
