An Edinburgh church is inviting budding artists to take part in a community art project in partnership with a renowned sculptor.
Artist Mark Coreth will work alongside Greyfriars Kirk to encourage people of all ages and abilities to produce their own sculptures of Greyfriars Bobby, the Skye Terrier who guarded his master’s grave for 14 years in the Kirkyard.
The project forms part of the Kirk’s 400th anniversary celebrations. Mark will lead three online tutorials, starting on July 6. For more information, visit https://greyfriarskirk.com/lockdown-bobby-project/
The railings of Lomond Parish Church in Balloch are hung with over a hundred pom-poms, a cross and a banner. The ministers of the church, which is linked with Kilmaronock/Gartocharn Church, were encouraging the children of the Sunday School to extend the rainbows of hope they had drawn for their windows by making a rainbow of brightly coloured pom-poms.
