The Christian Aid Committee at Mayfield Salisbury Parish Church in Edinburgh came up with a colourful alternative to the congregational Christmas card, which it would normally organise.

Participants submitted their messages by email or phone to the committee, who transcribed them on to ribbons and attached them to the church railings. Contributors were encouraged to combine their greetings with a donation to Christian Aid’s Christmas Appeal.

John Coutts of Upper Donside Parish Church, in Gordon Presbytery, has been presented with a Long Service Certificate for being an Elder in Upper Donside Parish for 50 years.

The presentation, which took place before the tightening of Covid-19 restrictions in Upper Donside Bowling Club in Glenkindie, was made by locum minister the Rev Simon Crouch.
