631 Years Of Service Honoured in Galashiels Church

                                                                                                                                           August 12 2021

OVER 600 years of service has been honoured at a special service in Galashiels.

Long service certificates were awarded to 13 elders and a choir member with an exceptional 81 years of service at Galashiels: Trinity Church. James Melrose had served the choir since the age of 11.

The Long Service certificates had been due to be presented at a special service at the end of March 2020, but the service had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The certificates were instead presented at a special service at Galashiels: Trinity in June to: George Rae (60), William Cheyne (52), James Gilchrist (50), Gladys Brown (45), Thomas Lawson (43), James Dickson (42), Alistair Wilson (42), David Nightingale (41), Alistair Russell (39), Violet Howden (37), Alistair Bell (36), Fiona Wilson (33) and Robert Adamson (30).
