Funding Available for Community Projects

Tuesday August 24 2021

Churches which run projects in their local community are being encouraged to apply for funding through Tesco Community Grants.

The grant scheme is open for applications and provides grants of up to £1500 to support projects focused on supporting children and families or providing food. Projects are voted on by Tesco customers in stores across the UK, with projects changing every three months. It currently helps fund thousands of local community projects across the UK, helping to fight holiday hunger, tackle mental health, support young people, host community events and much more.

Examples of supported projects include a local friends of a park group wanting to develop a new toddler area, a local school needing food for a children’s breakfast club, a community garden running activities for children,  a voluntary organisation working with families to run holiday clubs, a charity supporting young people with specialist advice to manage mental health, a brownie or scout group needing new tents, and a youth sports club needing new equipment.

For details, visit https://tescocommunitygrants.org.uk/ or contact greenspace scotland, who administer the programme in Scotland. The contact details for their community enablers are at https://www.greenspacescotland.org.uk/grant-funding

If you are a Tesco customer, you can also nominate any local project or good cause that you’d like to see supported. They will be contacted and if they are eligible for funding, we will encourage them to apply. Visit https://tescocommunitygrants.org.uk/nominate/
