New Course Explores Local Church Leadership in Changing Church

Monday December 20 2021

A new online course next spring will help elders and local church leaders explore their role and the future of local church leadership in a rapidly changing context.

The course, offered by Trinity College and the Department of Theology & Religious Studies at the University of Glasgow, will look at the role of local leadership in the Reformed churches in Scotland, both historically and in the present day. It examines how changed circumstances and the mission calling of the church invites us to re-examine the calling and tasks of elders and local leaders in the congregation, and what this kind of practice looks like, especially in the midst of difficult church change.

Classes take place on Mondays evenings, weekly from March 7- May 23 (with a break for Easter).

The course costs £207 per person. The university recommends that you apply to attend with at least one other person from your parish/church to maximise the learning and impact.

The deadline for enrolment is January 31. Email TrinityCollegeGlasgow@gmail.com to notify your interest, and for more information visit https://www.trinitycollegeglasgow.co.uk/elders-and-leaders
