CrossReach’s annual golf day will take place on June 2, raising money for the organisation’s counselling services.
Even before Covid-19, it was known that about one in four people in Scotland will experience some form of mental health problem during their lifetime, and no-one yet knows what long-term impact the added pressures of the pandemic will bring.
CrossReach, the Church of Scotland’s social care provider, offers wide-ranging mental health services across the country: in the home, workplace, community groups, assisted living facilities and one to one counselling. The Children and Families counselling services supported over 900 clients between August 2020 and July 2021 - 186 hours of counselling each week, at a cost of £50 an hour.
The annual Golf Day at the prestigious Glenbervie Golf Club, between Falkirk and Stirling, will include 18 holes of golf followed by a two-course meal, prizegiving, auction and raffle. The entry fee is £75 per person or £300 for a four person team, and there is also the opportunity to sponsor a hole. Every penny raised will help combat loneliness and support people struggling with mental health.
