Easter Story Trails Launched

Monday March 28 2022

The team behind the 10 Must Know Bible Stories resources have launched a new series of outdoor learning experiences for 2022 – Story Trails.

The first trail, based on Easter, is now available to download to tie in with schools lessons based around Easter.

It contains guidance for setting up a trail, testing children’s knowledge of the Easter story through a series of true or false questions and collecting letters to solve a puzzle. There are also suggestions for extending the learning

The Ten Must Know Bible Stories project began when St Columba’s Church in Aberdeen collaborated with 7 local schools to rethink how Christianity is taught as part of the RME curriculum. Combining their experience and expertise has resulted in a suite of resources which promote active and outdoor learning, embed RME across the curriculum and encourage children to discover Christian belief for themselves as they explore 10 Bible Stories.

The resources reflect the Scottish Government’s legislation and guidance on RME in school, and the project also offers training sessions for schools and chaplains.
