Volunteers at St Andrew’s Church in Carluke, South Lanarkshire, have been central to the development of a Dementia Friendly Health Walk, supporting people in their community who are living with dementia.

Friends Alice Torrance and Jessie Armstrong helped form the group after both attended the church’s drop-in support for people living with dementia with their husbands, who died within a few months of each other in 2018. After training as volunteer walk leaders, they now lead the weekly walk from the church.

Read more on the Paths For All website, which also includes a map of Health Walks across Scotland and information for any churches that might be interested in offering their own Health Walk.

Clydebank: Kilbowie St Andrew’s Guild’s held a thanksgiving service followed by a light lunch to celebrate its 125th Anniversary. They were joined by guest preacher the Rev Christine Goldie, Guild National Convener Margaret Muir, and Guild General Secretary Karen Gillon.
