'What is our future with China?'

Monday August 29 2022

The Scottish Churches China Group’s (SCCG's) autumn discussion next month will ask ‘what is our future with China’?

The short discussion, in Edinburgh on Wednesday September 21, will include contributions from: Caroline Fielder, Lecturer in Chinese Studies at the University of Leeds; Simon MacAulay, Chair, Scotland China Education Network; and John MacMillan, CEO of the Eric Liddell Community.

The morning will also provide an opportunity to get a brief update about the projects the SCCG is involved in with our partners in China. These range from projects supporting children with additional educational support needs, to projects which help train medical staff involved in palliative and end of life care. The group has also been closely involved recently in building staff skills in China for the support of elderly people with dementia.

The event will conclude with a Q&A session with the speakers, followed by a buffet lunch.

Formed in 1983, the SCCG’s aim is to help advance health, education and social welfare for people living in China; and to encourage and support Christian witness in China.

The panel takes place at Augustine United Church on George IV Bridge, beginning at 11am, and is free. For full details and to register, visit Eventbrite.
