Three Church of Scotland churches are up for awards in the inaugural National Church Awards, which will be presented next month.

Bishopton Parish Church in Renfrewshire is nominated for two awards, while Clark Memorial Church in Largs, North Ayrshire, and St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall, Orkney, have been shortlisted for one each.

Both Bishopton and Largs have been nominated for the Church and Community award, which Bishopton is also in line for the Church Maintenance award.

St Magnus Cathedral, Britain’s most northerly cathedral, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors every year, is on the shortlist for the first Church Tourism Award.

The National Church Awards were launched by the National Churches Trust earlier this year, bringing all their previous awards schemes together into one nominations process and event.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Mercers Hall in the City of London on October 24, which will be livestreamed. You can register to watch at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/national-church-awards-livestream-tickets-415200384527
