Story Trails Launched to Explore Christmas

Monday November 28 2022

A new set of Christmas resources for schools has been released by the Ten Must Know Bible Stories team.

The Christmas Story Trail, which is new for 2022, will take classes on a new and dynamic outdoor learning experience designed to tie in with RME (religious and moral education) lessons. The trails, which are available for early years and primary school levels, offer a series of activities and puzzles themed around the Christmas story.

The Ten Must Know Bible Stories project began when St Columba’s Church in Aberdeen collaborated with seven local schools to rethink how Christianity is taught as part of the RME curriculum. Combining their experience and expertise has resulted in a suite of resources which promote active and outdoor learning, embed RME across the curriculum and encourage children to discover Christian belief for themselves as they explore 10 Bible Stories. It is now run in partnership with the Scottish Bible Society.

For Christmas, in addition to the new Story Trail, Ten Must Know Bible Stories has Powerpoints and other learning resources, and a new Nativity Play.

This week, there is also the opportunity for teachers to join a Christmas Story webinar on Wednesday at 3.30pm, where the team will introduce engaging and creative ideas to explore the story of the birth of Jesus.
