Jackson Parish Church, Airdrie recognised the long service of 11 elders on November 6.

Pictured front are the Rev Kay Gilchrist with Geoff Burden, who received a certificate for 50 years’ service.

Eleven elders of Langside Parish Church were presented with long service certificates by the Moderator of the General Assembly, the Rt Rev Dr Iain Greenshields.

At Sunday Worship in St Ninian’s Old Church, Stirling on November 27, Arthur Wall was presented with a certificate for 30 years’ service as an elder. Arthur was ordained to the eldership in the West High Kirk, Kilmarnock on November 29 1992 and has been at St Ninians Old since 2012.

He is pictured with the Rev Gary J McIntyre, Minister of St Ninian’s Old, and Session Clerk, Leslie Asher.


A North Lanarkshire community singing group that grew out of a church worship group is holding a Christmas concert on Tuesday December 6.

The New Monkland Community Songsters was started by the worship group at New Monkland Church, Glenmavis, earlier this year, and now has 32 members. Tuesday’s concert is free entry with a donation to Airdrie foodbank.
