CrossReach Updates on Plans to 'Keep the Promise'

Wednesday December 21 2022

The Church of Scotland’s social care provider has released the first in a series of newsletters which will provide updates on how it is responding to Scotland’s Independent Care Review.

The review of Scotland’s care system, which was published in 2020, set out five foundations and 80 action points in a document named ‘The Promise’.

CrossReach’s Promise newsletters will help update service users and their families, workforce and supporters on the changes it is making to help realise the vision of the Promise that ‘at every turn and in every setting children must have access to safe, stable, emotionally available, consistent, nurturing relationships and environments that enable them to reach their full potential’.

The first newsletter sets out where CrossReach’s Children and Families services was already making progress towards the aspirations of the Promise, but admits there are ‘some areas we would like to enhance or improve upon’. It also introduces the three staff who make up the Promise Enablement team, and a summary of what they will be working on for the next 12 months.
