Alpha Leader to Speak at Prayer Breakfast

Wednesday April 19 2023

Nicky Gumble

The author, vicar and developer of the Alpha Course, Nicky Gumbel, will speak at this year’s National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland, in Edinburgh on June 14.

The Prayer Breakfast has become a significant date in Scotland’s Christian calendar. Last year’s event, the first in-person since the Covid-19 pandemic, attracted one of the highest attendances ever including a record number of MSPs and other national leaders.

This year’s Breakfast is on the theme of resilience. Nicky Gumbel, who has led the Alpha Course since 1990, and was Vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton in London until last year, will be the keynote speaker. There will also be an interview with Terry McCutcheon, the founder of Christian addiction charity Hope for Glasgow.

The event takes place in Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, and you can book here. There are also live streaming events throughout Scotland, and the Prayer Breakfast is looking for more venues to host a stream.
