On June 23 the congregation of Irvine Old Parish Church celebrated the 250th anniversary of their current building.

The building is believed to be the third on a site where Christian worship has taken place since the ninth century.

The congregation welcomed the Moderator, Clerk and Depute Clerk from the Presbytery as well as the Provost of North Ayrshire, retired MP, representatives from the Irvine Incorporated Trades, Irvine Carters Society, Irvine Burns Club and Irvine Lasses Burns Club and 2nd Irvine Boys Brigade.

Following the service everyone was invited to the hall for refreshment and to view the 250th Anniversary exhibition. Philippa Whitford (MP retired) presented the congregation with a copy of the Early Day Motion which she proposed in Parliament congratulating the church on this special event.

Four new elders have been ordained and admitted at Bellshill Central Parish Church. Emily Aitken, Annette Mather, Lynne Swan and Lorna Watson are pictured with locum minister the Rev Margaret E S Rose.

June and James Scott have been admitted to the eldership at Forfar: All Souls @Letham. They are pictured with the Rev Maggie Hunt.
