Wednesday August 28 2024

Church of Scotland ministers and experts in autism, gender and disability inclusion will be among  the speakers at a conference on accessibility in worship and liturgy, in Glasgow next month.

The day conference at St Andrew’s West Church (formerly Renfield St Stephen’s) will explore complexities around accessibility in liturgy and worship today. Among the perspectives considered will be neurodiversity, disability, socio-economic and cultural differences.

Speakers confirmed so far are the Rev Rosie Addis, Chair of Deaf Action, and the Rev Christopher Rowe, who ministers within a Priority Area parish; Léon van Ommen, senior lecturer and Co-Director of the Centre for Autism and Theology at the University of Aberdeen; and Jesse Fubara-Manuel, gender and disability advisor for Presbytery Community Services and Development.

The conference takes place on Wednesday September 18 from 10am, and costs £30. Lunch is included. Register here.
