Launch Events for Book on Ministry

Wednesday September 4 2024

Three launch events will take place later this month for a new book written by a Church minister.

‘Oh All Right Then’ was written by the Rev Dr Marjory MacLean to illustrate the many and varied experiences of ministry life.

Dr MacLean, minister of South Ronaldsay and Burray in Orkney, said she wrote it for the benefit of candidates and anyone considering a future in the ministry, as well as for anyone interested in what ministers do ‘between Sunday mornings’. It draws on her experiences in both island and mainland parishes, as well as a military chaplain (both in Afghanistan and on board a Royal Navy vessel rescuing migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean) and at the church offices, where she served as Depute Principal Clerk.

The book, available from Amazon, will raise funds for the new Orkney Islands Parish, which will be formed next month.

There will be launch events in Edinburgh on Sunday September 22, London on Sunday September 29, and St Margaret’s Hope, Orkney, on October 1. For more information and to register visit https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/marjory-maclean
