The Lord Provost of Glasgow will join church and civic leaders at the Blessing of the Crib in the city’s George Square next week.

The blessing service will take place on Wednesday December 4 at 6.30pm, with traditional music from Alba Brass and carols by St Monica’s Primary School Choir.

The Lord Provost’s Office, with Glasgow Churches Together, will also host Carols for Peace, at 3pm on Sunday December 15 at 3pm at City Chambers. There will be singers from Ukraine and a children’s choir, a piper and harpist.

Prayers will be said for peace in the world but particularly Bethlehem, Glasgow’s twin city. Refreshments will be served afterwards, and there will be a collection for the Lord Provost’s Fund for Children.

Everyone is welcome to either event.
