New Scotland Head for Leprosy Mission

Monday January 27 2025

A youth pastor, poet and campaigner has been appointed as Scotland Country Head for Leprosy Mission Great Britain.

Steven McLeish, who took up the role this month, will be responsible for raising awareness, increasing fundraising, and building partnerships to combat the stigma of leprosy and support those affected around the world.

Most recently youth pastor and evangelist at United Irvine Church of Scotland, Steven is also a spoken word artist who has worked with global platforms including the BBC, Unilad and TBN UK, sharing faith and campaigning on issues including mental health and social media.

He said: “This is more than a job; it’s a calling. I am deeply humbled to step into this role and work with communities across Scotland to raise awareness of leprosy—a disease that still affects millions. Together, we will amplify hope, drive change, and make a lasting impact for the Kingdom.”

Stephen is available to give talks about the work of Leprosy Mission, and can be contacted on stevenm@lm.org.uk
