The Rev Susan Galloway, at a service in Currie Kirk on Sunday January 26, presented 50 year long service certificates to elders Bill Porteous, Grant Gordon, and Bill Wood. A fourth Elder Janet Steven – the first lady Elder in Currie Kirk - was unable to be present due to bad weather, but will receive her certificate at a later date.

Following months of joint services and work the congregations of Abbotsgrange and Zetland Parish Churches in Grangemouth united to become Parkview Parish Church. The Presbytery Service of Union was held on Wednesday, January 15 with around 150 people present and was led by the Moderator of Forth Valley & Clyde Presbytery, the Rev Derek Gunn, and Assistant Interim Presbytery Clerk, the Rev Robert Allan. The congregation rededicated themselves to worship and service and welcomed the introduction of the Rev Alison Meikle to Parkview Parish Church.

Alexander Burgess of Lochgoilhead Church in Argyll was presented with a long service certificate marking 60 years in the eldership. The presentation, which also included a rose named ‘Lady Sylvia’ after Mr Burgess’s late wife, was made by the Rev Dr Robin Mackenzie during his final service before retirement.
