Uphall South Parish Church had three days of celebration for VE Day, including a display of photographs, medals and articles by church member Margaret Denholm.

Paisley North Church had an afternoon tea and singalong to conclude their VE Day commemorations.

St Andrew’s Church, Brussels celebrated the 100th anniversary of the laying of its foundation stone on Sunday. The Moderator or the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Rt Rev Dr Shaw Paterson, joined the Rev Eric Foggitt, minister of St Andrews, in leading worship. Dr Shaw later unveiled a date stone, fashioned from the old lintel stone of the vestry fireplace.
Other special guests were the UK Ambassador to Belgium Anne Sherriff, Martin Johnson, EU Director at Scotland House, Pater Steven Fuite, President of the United Protestant Church of Belgium (EPUB), Eric Sibnomana of Holy Trinity Pro Cathedral and William White of the International Protestant Church (IPC). The church was decorated by the Sunday School and there were performances from senior and junior choirs.

A number of members of Macduff Parish Church and the local community are taking part in the Christian Aid 'Move in May Challenge' with each person committing themselves to walk, run, swim or cycle. On Monday May 12, a group took part in a local walk and were joined by Charlie from Christian Aid Scotland and Temwa, a global adviser for Christian Aid frrom Malawi. The walk proved to be an ideal opportunity to learn about the work of Christian Aid and in particular the challenges faced in Malawi.

On Sunday May 11 at Elgin Parish Church, the Rev Deon Oelofse presented long service certificates to George Duthie (who has served for 40 years), Hilda Robertson, William (Bill) Robertson, Kathleen Dale, Mary Dawson and June Edmonstone (all 30 years). Mrs Gill Mason was unavailable on the day but will be presented with her 30 years’ certificate at a later date.
