Our regular round-up of news received from churches

Airdrie Cairnlea Parish Church was delighted to welcome the Moderator of the General Assembly, the Rt Rev Rosie Frew, to lead worship in the celebration of 150 years of the existing church buildings on the former Flowerhill Church site. The building has undergone substantial redevelopment in recent years with the installation of air source heat pumps, new hardwood flooring, open seating in the sanctuary, a welcoming foyer, new toilets and a platform lift.

Minister, the Rev Dr Peter Donald welcomed the Moderator, together with over 200 members and guests, including deputy Lord Lieutenant, Presbytery, local representatives of other churches and emergency services.  A commemorative booklet was produced and issued.

At Stranraer Church, the Rev Andy Muir presented long service certificates to two elders: June Ferguson received a certificate for 40 years’ service and Christine Downie for 30 years.
