Christian charity EMMS has launched an urgent appeal for help in Malawi, where flooding has killed at least 176 people and made over 100,000 homeless.
The south of the country has experienced its heaviest rain for 30 years and last week the government declared a third of the country a disaster zone and appealed for humanitarian aid.
Edinburgh-based EMMS says that many of its partners and projects have been affected by the floods. Mulanje Mission Hospital has suffered power loss and the collapse of a toilet block (above).
The hospital is also having to deal with a greater number of patients caused by the flooding, with casualties caused by collapsed buildings and the risk of water borne diseases.
