The Guild of Thurso West Church put on a display of wedding dresses spanning 110 years. The oldest was worn in Glasgow in 1905, and the newest was worn in the church only last month. The display ran for three afternoons and was greatly appreciated by the local community.

Tullibody St Serf’s recently celebrated the 50^th anniversary of Jimmy Martin’s ordination as an Elder.

Jimmy was born in what was then Lwów in eastern Poland (now called Lviv and part of Ukraine), moving to Scotland when he was 17 and working in the coal mining industry. He was ordained in Cowie Parish Church on June 14 1965 and also served in Dunfermline before moving to Tullibody in the 1980s.

He was married to Agnes, who passed away in 2013; and has four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Jimmy is pictured with locum minister the Rev Bill Izett.

Twelve new Elders were recently ordained and one admitted at Wellington Church, Glasgow.
