Churches Explore Refugees Response

Wednesday June 8

Scottish churches’ response to the ongoing refugee crisis is to be explored as part of the Refugee Festival Scotland later this month.

Scottish Faiths Action for Refugees is to hold a day conference, Working Together in Faith, which will offer the latest information about the refugee situation and explore practical ways in which churches and faith groups can help.

The conference will include input on the experience of refugees, current policy analysis and reflections on faith and spiritually in a time of global crisis. There will be a choice of workshops looking at interfaith projects, human rights, opportunities for volunteering and anticipated policy changes in the coming weeks which faith groups can engage with.

The free event is to be held at St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church, George Street, Edinburgh, on Tuesday June 21 from 10.30am-3.30pm. You can register at Eventbrite, or for further information contact Sabine Chalmers on schalmers@churchofscotland.org.uk or David Bradwell on dbradwell@churchofscotland.org.uk or call either Sabine or David on 0131 225 5722
