Nearly 300 years of combined service to the Church of Scotland Guild was recognised at Bellshill Parish Church earlier this month.

Minister, the Rev Kevin de Beer presented certificates to nine long term members of the Guild. They are: Ellen Williamson (67 years0; Betty Toal (55 years); Mary Baird (47 years); Helen Clark (27 years); Betty Mackie (19 years); Liz Morton (17 years); Janette Young (16 years), Peggy Walker (13 years); Rena Girdwood (11 years); Ann Dillon (10 years) and Helen Daly (10 years).

After the service, a special celebration was presented and cut by Guild members.

The Church of Scotland Guild at Portpatrick Church, Wigtownshire, has produced a popular calendar of local scenes, which has raised funds for the Church of Scotland Guild for a number of years.
