New Autumn Sale for Christian Aid

Tuesday September 27

An additional Christian Aid sale is to be held in St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church in Edinburgh this autumn.

The sale of art and Scottish books is a new event for the church, venue for the largest charity book sale in Britain every Christian Aid Week.

Taking place from October 27-29 at 10am-3pm, the art sale will include paintings by popular and up-and-coming artists as well as older works. If you would like to donate something, you can contact the sale convener Mary Davidson on 0771 418 6754 or pictures convener James Holloway on 0780 382 2334.

The Scottish book section of the sale will include first editions autographed for Christian Aid in 2016.

The event will also include a recital by its 2016 patron, Edinburgh City organist John Kitchen, at 3pm on Thursday October 27.

Finally, on Saturday October 29 there will also be a coffee morning, including jewellery and gifts, from 10am-12 noon.

This year’s Christian Aid Week sale marked the sale of the millionth book in the event’s 42-year history, and raised over £100,000.
