BB Scotland Director Appointed To UK-wide Role

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Wednesday November 16, 2016

THE director of the Boys’ Brigade Scotland has been appointed as Brigade Secretary/chief executive of the Boys’ Brigade UK and Ireland.

Bill Stevenson, 55, a Church of Scotland elder, joined the 4th Leith Company of the BB when he was eight, and became one of the youngest BB Captains in Scotland.  Bill has also served as President of the Leith Battalion and in many other volunteer roles in the organisation.

Remaining commited to both the Church and the BB, Bill studied accountancy and finance before working in Housing Associations across the UK.

In 2009 he was appointed director of BB Scotland and will use his experience to strengthen the organisation in his role as UK chief executive.

Bill said he was ‘thrilled’ to have been appointed to the role.

He added: “I want to make the BB bigger and better. This means continuing to develop and grow the Brigade and addressing issues that will improve the lives of all our members. We are faith-based organisation and I’m keen to ensure our members learn more about the Christian faith in a safe and fun environment.”
