The connection between our financial decisions and climate change is to be explored at a church-organised conference in Edinburgh in October.
The conference, to be held during Good Money Week, is a joint event organised by the Church of Scotland, Eco-Congregation Scotland, microcredit lender Oikocredit and Christian Aid. It will explore key issues around how individuals, churches and communities can use their money to reflect their concern about climate change.
The guest speakers are the Rev Sally Foster-Fulton, head of Christian Aid Scotland; Chris Hegarty, Christian Aid’s senior policy and advocacy adviser; and Monica Middleton National Director of Oikocredit UK and Ireland. It will be chaired by the Rev Dr Richard Frazer, convener of the Church of Scotland’s Church and Society Council.
The half-day conference in St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church will take place on Thursday October 12, beginning at 9.45am and concluding with lunch. Places are free but limited, and you can book through Eventbrite. More information on the Eco-Congregation Scotland website.
Good Money Week, held this year from October 8-14, is a week of events raising awareness of sustainable, responsible and ethical finance.
